Graphic Artists and Designers Needed for New Fort Eisenhower Logo
Fort Gordon in Augusta won’t be Fort Gordon much longer. The local military installation will become Fort Eisenhower soon, and the Cyber Center of Excellence is calling on local graphic artists and designers to come up with a new logo for the transformation.
Fort Gordon started as Camp Gordon in 1941 as a World War II training camp for the 4th and 26th Infantry Divisions and the 10th Armored Division. It was renamed Fort Gordon in 1956 once it became a permanent Army installation. Now it’s changing names again.
Fort Gordon and eight other Army installations are being renamed because they were originally named after Confederate leaders. Fort Gordon was named after John Gordon, who commanded half of Robert E. Lee’s army during the Civil War. It will be renamed Fort Eisenhower after former President and five-star General Dwight D. Eisenhower. The hospital on post currently bears his name.
“We are looking for a creative and unique logo that represents its namesake and our cyberspace environment, multi-service military installation,” said Cyber Center of Excellence Public Affairs Director, Lesli J. Ellis-Wouters. She added, “the winning logo design will be used in various ways to represent our brand and promote our post, to include our website, in marketing materials, outreach merchandise, social media and signage.”
Those submitting a logo design must include:
The name “Team Eisenhower”; Must represent the Cyberspace domain (Signal, Cyber, Electromagnetic Warfare Operations, and Public Affairs)
Only two submissions per person are allowed. Visit usarmy.gordon.cyber-coe.mbx.ccoe-website-and-media@army.mil for more information on logo artwork guidelines and to email artwork. Make sure “Logo Design Contest Submission” is on the subject line.
Deadline for submissions is April 29, 2023. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges and will receive a prize.
