Another Lucy C. Laney High School HS Football Game Shooting Arrest
Another arrest has been made in connection with the shooting that occurred on September 16 at the Lucy C Laney High School football game.
According to our news partner WJBF, 17 year-old Kinte Timarriez Green was arrested on September 26. He was charged with the following:
- Weapons On School Grounds
- Aggravated Assault
- Two counts of 1st Degree Criminal Damage to Property
- Possession of Firearm or Knife during Commission of Crime
After Friday night’s shooting outside Laney High School, two people were taken into custody. Seventeen-year-old Santana Mance of Dearing and 17-year-old Roosevelt Demmons of Thomson were charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the first degree, weapon possession, weapons on school grounds and possession of a firearm under 18.
District officials decided that homecoming activities would continue. They released the following statement after the shooting:
The board issued a statement: “Homecoming activities will continue with enhanced safety measures and plans to enforce board of education policy regarding items permissible on school property.”
Officials said they are asking the community to support safe celebrations by making sure they report any suspicious activities to authorities.
