Gas Tax Suspended in Georgia into July
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed an order today, continuing the suspension of the state’s gas tax into July.
The existing order, which was set to expire May 31, has suspended the state’s 29.1 cents-a-gallon gas tax to help Georgians as the nation continues to battle rising inflation and energy prices.
Kemp’s new order means Georgia’s gas tax has been suspended now through July 14. He said officials will dig deeper into surplus funds to cover the cost of extending the tax break.
