Eight Students Injured in Richmond County Bus Crash
Eight students were taken to the hospital to be checked after a Richmond County school bus was rear-ended this morning on Deans Bridge Road.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a pickup truck told deputies he sneezed and didn’t see bus 523 in front of him stopping to pick up a student.
The truck hit the back of the bus, leaving the students and bus driver complaining of neck and back pain. They were all taken to the hospital to be treated. The truck driver is also undergoing treatment for unspecified injuries.
Authorities say the truck driver was cited for following too closely.
