Georgia Faith Leaders Call for Boycott of Home Depot
Faith leaders in Georgia announced today they are calling for a nationwide boycott of Home Depot over what they claim is the company’s indifference to the state’s new voting laws.
Bishop Reginald Jackson, who oversees all 534 African Methodist Episcopal churches in Georgia, says Home Depot didn’t do enough to pressure lawmakers not to pass the bill, which they say restricts access to voters of color.
Home Depot officials say they merely want all elections to be “accessible, fair and secure.”
Governor Brian Kemp, who is opposing the boycott, is encouraging consumers to support Georgia jobs.
