Suspect in Double Homicide Commits Suicide
The man identified as the suspect in the deaths of two women yesterday in Grovetown was found dead this morning of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Richmond County authorities were looking for 58 year old James Briggs in connection with the deaths of his wife, Tammy Briggs, and her 21 year old daughter, April Williams. Both were found dead at the couple’s home on Copse Street.
Around 8:45 this morning, Briggs truck was found in the 100 block of Craig Sims Parkway, not far from the murder scene. The coroner’s office says Briggs was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
The motive for the killings has not been released yet.
