One of three people identified as suspects in the holdup and deadly shooting recently surrendered to authorities at the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Antwan Herndon of Waynesboro was being held at the Burke County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Richmond County.
The first person identified as a suspect, 22-year-old Terrance Walker, was taken into custody in Burke County the night of the crimes. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office was notified and deputies spotted the vehicle that night in Waynesboro.
After a high speed chase, the vehicle stopped and the suspects got out. Two got away, but police say they were able to apprehend the driver, who was identified as Walker.
Investigators say Rubeha was found unconscious behind the counter at the store by a female customer who called police. He had been shot in the head and died a short time after being transported to Wellstar MCG.
