Shots Were Fired Less Than a Week ago Outside Laney Walker High School Stadium
Shots were heard outside Laney High School’s football stadium last Friday night as the team played its first game of the season against Westside.
Some fans hunkered down, others ran after reports of more than a dozen shots were heard during the third quarter of the game.
No one was hurt, but Richmond County deputies said shell casings were found at Florence Street and Blounts Avenue. Shots were also apparently fired in the area of a nearby apartment complex.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident, but witnesses told investigators they saw a car driving up and down the street outside the stadium with at least one person firing shots into the air from the vehicle.
