Austin’s Thoughts on CJ Pearson
With the upcoming special election for Georgia House of Representatives District 125 fast approaching on February 13th, some questions have arisen about Republican candidate CJ Pearson. Here’s what Austin had to say about it this week:
Questions Arise About CJ Pearson
One thing that’s come up about CJ Pearson, in discussing this a little bit further is the inclusion of him as a Trump elector. If the Biden electors in the state of Georgia had been withdrawn. In other words, if it was discovered that the vote was flawed and/or there were new votes either for Trump or, votes taken away from Biden, whatever happens to be…if the winner in Georgia was declared to be Trump rather than Biden, there was a slate of electors that were ready to go.
Now, by the way, having that ready does not in any way, shape or form constitute insurrection or treason or, you know, any of that crap. It just signifies that you’ve got somebody in the batter’s box ready, willing and able to step up if need be.
So, Pearson was removed, CJ was removed, I want to say in December of 2020 by David Shafer because he had established residency in Alabama. He was a college student at that time. And I’m told repeatedly, and I don’t know if C.J. mentioned this, I don’t remember him mentioning this. It’s been rumored that he was going to run for mayor of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Now, again, I haven’t gotten that from C.J., but one of the political folks that is very familiar with this race told me that a little while ago. They told me that several times, and it’s a reliable source. So we’ll pretend for a minute that that’s accurate. That in and of itself, does not preempt C.J. from from running for office if he moved back here.
Now the question would be, and I maybe need to call Nancy Gay on this, or for that matter, Travis Doss. Do you have to reregister to vote? If you have, if you are a registered voter in Augusta, Richmond County, and you give that up to vote in your college home town, wherever it may be. Do you have to reregister after you’ve registered somewhere else once you’ve moved back here? I have no idea. Again. It’s one of those things that I need to find out.
Making inquiries
So I’ll endeavor to do that for you off the air today. It’s an interesting question, but I’ll also say that in a special election, there are certain things that kind of I don’t want to say go by the wayside, but the system of checks and balances gets streamlined tremendously. I mean, here we are. We got early voting going on already, and that’s that’s quick. That is quick. So again, it’s a situation I believe, that’s worth investigating. And you know, if CJ’s not qualified he’s not qualified.
All these attacks on his character though for endorsing Bernie Sanders, again 13 years old that you know, it’s hilarious that we’re sitting here talking about the political opinions of a child that young. I understand that he’s running for office now. And, you know, it’s not that long ago. But, you know, in this nation, we decided a long time ago, at the age of 18, you can go off and die in war. You ought to be able to drink alcohol at the same age. Certainly you can get an abortion or transgender procedures done to your personal body when you’re much younger than that in places like California.
So, you know, people’s opinions nationwide of what someone, a young person can or can’t do at a certain age. And oh, by the way, you’re also given the benefit of the doubt, which is hilarious to me when you’re 16, 15, 16 years old. Depending on the seriousness of a crime that you may commit as to how you’re punished, you can make a decision. You’re rational enough to make a decision according to the law in California about getting an abortion for yourself when you’re 12, 13, 14 years old. But God forbid you get your ears pierced or you get dental work done, or you attempt to buy property, you can’t do any of those things. But an abortion is no problem.
So when people start throwing up his age. I just have to sit back and chuckle. I mean, he’s he’s 21 right now. Age of majority, as they say. And you know, he’s he’s got all the warts and blemishes of any 13, 14 year old person who, again, has been kind of living under a spotlight since he became politically active at about that age. So again, it will be an interesting situation to kind of watch how this plays out.
