Man in Custody Following Drug Bust in Burke County
A weekend drug bust in Burke County landed one man behind bars.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Special Response Team, went to a home in the 600 block of Wallace Street in Waynesboro Friday after getting a tip that narcotics were being sold there.
After serving a search warrant, authorities found large amounts of Marijuana and MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly) pills.
Twenty-nine-year-old Alphonse Fredrick Birdine was taken into custody without incident. He’s been charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing project; Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing project; and Unlawful Street Gang Activity.
