Hobby Lobby Raises Minimum Wage to $17 an Hour
Hobby Lobby announced today it’s raising its minimum full-time hourly wage to $17 an hour starting October 1.
CEO David Green said the increase was designed to help employees as the holiday season nears. “Because this year has presented so many challenges to our employees, we are very happy that we are able to provide pay increases to thousands of our associates before the Christmas season,” Green said.
Hobby Lobby has raised its minimum wage 10 times since 2009. In 2014, the full-time minimum hourly wage was raised to $15.
The arts and crafts retailer operates 923 stores across the country, including one in Augusta on Robert C. Daniel Parkway.
