Masters Champions Dinner Menu Announced
The 2025 Masters Champions Dinner will have some Texas flare, fitting for Texas native and reigning Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler.
As is tradition, the reigning champion chooses the menu and serves as host for the dinner, held every year on the Tuesday of Masters week.
Scheffler decided to start with a selection of appetizers that includes Cheeseburger Sliders, served Scottie-Style; Firecracker Shrimp with sweet Thai Chili & Sriracha Mayo; and Papa Scheff’s Meatball & Ravioli Bites with Pecorino Cheese and Tomato Basil Sauce.
The first course will be none other than Texas-Style Chili with Cheddar Cheese, Jalapenos and Corn Chips.
Dinner guests will get their choice of a Wood-Fired Cowboy Ribeye or Blackened Redfish for the main course. Those will be served with family-style Macaroni & Cheese, Jalapeno Creamed Corn, Soy Glazed Brussels Sprouts, and Chipotle-Lime Roasted Sweet Potatoes.
For dessert, Scheffler chose a warm Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
If this year’s dinner menu sounds like the one Scheffler chose after his first Masters win in 2022, it’s pretty close.
Scheffler had hinted he would choose his favorite foods again for this year’s dinner, and that’s what he did, with two exceptions. Scheffler chose Texas-Style Chili this year instead of the Tortilla Soup he served in 2023, and decided to add his Papa Scheff’s Meatball and Ravioli Bites to the appetizer list this year.
Masters Champions Dinner Guest List
Only former Masters champions and Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, Fred Ridley, are invited to the exclusive dinner on the Tuesday before the Masters Tournament begins, which is April 8.
The guests, all wearing their green jackets, gather in the Library on the second floor of the Clubhouse for the annual dinner.
How the Tradition Began
The first Champions Dinner was held in 1952, a tradition started by Ben Hogan, a year after he won his first Masters in 1951. He wanted all former champions to gather for dinner before the next tournament began. He stipulated then that he wanted all those attending to wear their green jackets. It’s been a tradition ever since.
