Murphey Middle School Announcement from Dr. Bettina Kyler:
“It is with profound sadness that I write this letter to share that two students passed away over the weekend. Our condolences and thoughts are with their family and friends. As our community processes our loss and copes with grief, our students may feel a level of anxiety or distress. If you child (children) needs to speak to a counselor, grief counselors are onsite to assist and support our school.
Death can be difficult and challenging. I know our Murphey Middle School students and staff will lean on each other during this time. Together, our staff will continue to embrace our mission to contribute to our students’ social and emotional development and to always be attentive to students’ and each other’s emotional needs.”
There has been no information released from Richmond County officials regarding the student’s identities or the cause of their deaths
