Milner Wins Republican Aiken Mayoral Primary Runoff
The Aiken County Board of Voter Registration and Elections has confirmed that restauranteur Teddy Milner has won the Republican Aiken mayoral primary by 14 votes.
The recount confirmed that Milner narrowly won with 2,135 votes to incumbent mayor Rick Osbon’s 2,121 votes. State law required the recount since the winning margin was less than one percent. There will be no Democratic opposition on the November ballot.
Osbon, who has been mayor in Aiken since 2015, said ahead of the recount that he would support the results today.
Election officials said there was a better turnout for the runoff this week than for the primary. They have certified results of the election.
