Brooks Keel Celebrates 5 Years as AU President
Dr. Brooks Keel will be celebrating his 5th anniversary as president of Augusta University on Monday, July 20.
Augusta University has more than 5,000 undergraduate students and the institution has a graduate component that includes the state’s only dental school, The Dental College Georgia, and its only public medical school, the Medical College of Georgia.
Since taking the helm in 2015, Keel has overseen growth at the university that includes the opening of two new residence halls, the completion of the M. Bert Storey Research Building, the Georgia Cyber Center, and the beginning of the $70 million College of Science and Mathematics Building that should open in the fall of 2021.
Mary Liz is the News Director and Co-Host of Augusta’s Morning News on WGAC. She spent 11 years as a News Director at an Indiana Radio Station. She has also worked as a former Police and Courts Reporter for The Republic Newspaper and Assistant Marketing Director of Merchants National Bank in Indianapolis. Mary Liz focuses most on local breaking news stories, feature stories on upcoming events, or community-service related organizations and the people who serve them. She has been with WGAC since 1995.
