Aiken Mayor Contracts COVID-19
Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon has tested positive for COVID-19.
A statement from his office says Osbon got tested after suffering mild symptoms of the virus late last week. He is resting at home and will self-quarantine for 14 days from the onset of his symptoms.
Aiken City Council members had already planned to consider the approval of an ordinance later today that would mandate face coverings in food service and retail establishments throughout the city.
Osbon says, “passing a mask mandate is what I would vote to do, were I able to attend tonight’s meeting.”
