Heavy Rain Today Could Cause Flooding Issues
A flash flood watch is in effect for the entire CSRA until late tonight.
We can expect anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour during the heaviest downpours today.
One to three inches of rain has already fallen in some locations, and the National Weather Service says we could see additional rain totals of anywhere from 2 to 4 inches today. That could produce flash flooding in low lying areas.
Ponding of water on roadways will make driving hazardous. There have already been a rash of accidents reported in the area this morning, one claiming at least one life on Mike Padgett Highway.
