Disney World to Open in July in Phases
Walt Disney World plans to reopen the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11, according to an announcement today. The theme park has been closed since March 15 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Disney officials say they will do a phased reopening of the park, with the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opening first, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios opening four days later on July 15.
The parks will reopen at reduced capacity. A temperature check will be required on entry and visitors will be encouraged, if not required, to wear face coverings.
Rides, restaurants and retail will maintain social distancing. Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be installed, and contactless forms of payment will be preferred.
