Bars Can Reopen in Augusta Next Week
Bars will be able to open their doors in Augusta on May 14 when Governor Brian Kemp’s order on bars, nightclubs, amusement ride operators and live performance venues is set to expire.
During a news conference today, Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree said officials are in the process of contacting local bar owners to ensure they understand the guidelines that must be followed. He cautioned that those not following the guidelines will be ordered to close for the evening. Bars and clubs should have occupancy posted, then that number should be cut in half to determine how many people can be inside at one time.
