It's been more than two weeks since Jamilla Smith's family has heard from her.  The 30-year-old Aiken County mother of two was last seen December 2 in the driveway of her home off Old Jackson Highway.  Smith's family says Jamilla had been with her former boyfriend, 34-year-old Daniel Harmon, earlier in the day.  She said they were headed to Columbia, but said the two had been arguing.  In fact, authorities say the two had a history of domestic violence.

That same day, Smith reportedly called 9-1-1 and said she was trying to get away from a man she described as her former boyfriend.  Authorities say a man was heard in the background, yelling at her to get back in the car.  That's the last time anyone heard from Smith.

A missing person report was filed two days later by Smith's family and the search for her was underway.

In the meantime, the car Harmon was believed to be driving was spotted at a home in the 400 block of Carpenterville Road in North Augusta.  After a brief standoff, Harmon was taken into custody with the help of a SWAT team.  He's in the Aiken County Detention Center charged with Kidnapping and Second Degree Domestic Violence.

Smith's family initially offered a $5,000 reward for information that could help authorities find her.  Today, they held a news conference outside the Aiken County Detention Center and announced they have doubled the reward money to $10,000.

The family is also calling on investigators to beef up their efforts to find Smith, including initiating a communitywide search.

Investigators, meanwhile, assured the public they are following up on every lead in the case.

"We have received tips from the community and ask them to continue to assist us in this very active ongoing investigation," said Captain Eric Abdullah.
