Peach Orchard Road was the site of the latest deadly shooting in Richmond County.

Coroner Mark Bowen said his office was called to Piedmont Hospital late Friday night in reference to a shooting victim.

Bowen said 16-year-old Sadiq Brown of Wrens was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:34 pm

An autopsy has been scheduled.

Peach Orchard Road Shooting Suspect Named

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office was notified of the shooting just before 11 pm.

Deputies were called to Piedmont Hospital where they were told Brown had been taken by private vehicle with at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators say they were told the shooting took place in the 2600 block of Peach Orchard Road.

They say 18-year-old Kieran Darnell Walters is wanted for Murder in connection with Brown's death.

Augusta Mall Shooting Still Under Investigation

A shooting at Augusta Mall on the 4th of July is still under investigation.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office was notified of the shooting at 3:38 pm. When deputies responded, they found a male had been shot and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The mall was shut down for the remainder of the day. The Sheriff's Office hasn't released any other information about the shooting yet.

A statement was issued from Mall officials after the shooting:

"We are extremely disheartened that this targeted act of violence took place at our center. We take great pride in providing a safe environment where the community can shop and socialize."

The Independence Day shooting came less than 3 months after a male was injured in a shooting at Dillard's at Augusta Mall. Multiple people were arrested in connection with the incident.
