Child Drowned in Bathtub Last Week in Grovetown
It was just last week that investigators were called to a home in the 300 block of Summerfield Circle in Grovetown to a report of a possible drowning.
Grovetown Police found 6-year-old Adelia Tutt unresponsive on the bathroom floor when they arrived. EMS, firefighters and officers performed CPR, but efforts to revive her failed.
Authorities say Tutt was reportedly bathing with a 4-year-old sibling when she became unresponsive and wound up face down in the tub.
The younger child told authorities Tutt had fallen asleep.
The child’s father was at home at the time, but had walked onto to the porch to take a phone call. When he returned, he told police he found Tutt unresponsive in the tub.
Investigators say there were no visible signs of injury on her.
Tutt’s body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Grovetown Police said the investigation is ongoing.
