Body Found Off Vaucluse Road in Aiken: Victim Identified and Female Suspect Named

A body was found early this morning off Vaucluse Road at Senn Street in Aiken and investigators have made an arrest in the case.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was patrolling the area at 5:45 am and spotted a vehicle on the side of the road.

The deputy stopped to investigate. As he approached the vehicle, he spotted a man's body laying in the wood line.

The Sheriff's Office says the victim had been shot at least one time.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables has since identified the victim as 46-year-old Billy J. Reedy Jr. of Aiken.

"This is an on-going investigation and information will be released as it becomes available," according to SSGT. Stephen Shunn of the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

Body Found Today Resulted in One Arrest

The Aiken County Coroner's Office says an autopsy will be performed in Reedy in Newberry.

Meanwhile, an arrest was made in the case this afternoon.

Authorities say 41-year-old Donna Boatwright of Aiken was taken into custody around 2 pm during a traffic stop in Saluda County. The Saluda County Sheriff's Office made the arrest.

Boatwright is in the Aiken County Detention Center charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says the investigation is still ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
