Many Stores Closed Thanksgiving but Open Early Black Friday
Many of the so-called Black Friday sales now start days before what used to be known as the busiest shopping day of the year. Now that many retailers make deep discounts available earlier and online, there’s not as much of a mad dash to hit the stores before the sun comes up on Friday. For several years, many stores even opened up later in the day on Thanksgiving to get a jump-start on the holiday sales. That’s not the case this year, however. Many retailers have announced they will be closed Thanksgiving Day to give employees time to spend the holiday with their families.
