Homicide and Fatality Victims and Suspects Identified.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says three deaths have been reported in the county since Thursday evening.

Pedestrian Killed on Gordon Highway

A pedestrian was struck and killed in the 1600 block of Gordon Highway around 6:20 pm.  Bowen said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:14 pm.  The victim was identified as 43-year-old Tabitha Grooms of Augusta.  It's not known if charges will be filed against the driver.

Deadly Shooting on Verdery Street

Richmond County authorities were then called to a report of a shooting on Verdery Street at Oak Street at 9:43 pm.  Bowen said 32-year-old Myron Garnett was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says 30-year-old Shakeichia Jackson was arrested and charged with Garnett's murder.  No motive for the shooting has been given.

Deadly Wreck this Morning

Then at 1:30 this morning, a single vehicle fatality was reported in the 3900 block of Deans Bridge Road.  Bowen said 48-year-old Braun Pruitt of Aiken was driving a commercial truck when it left the roadway and crashed.  Pruitt was pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy has been scheduled.
