WGAC:

We don't know when, but we do know that Southbound Smokehouse will be opening a second location in the future.  The site of the former Fuse restaurant, which closed recently in The Alley in Aiken, will be home to the newest Southbound Smokehouse location but no timetable has been set.

The original Southbound Smokehouse location was at 1855 Central Avenue in Augusta but closed in 2021.  The owner, Brian Brittingham, had already opened another location at SRP Park in Riverside Village in March of 2019 and that continues to thrive.

Brittingham recently confirmed he'll be leasing the space formerly occupied by Fuse at 22 The Alley S.W. to open a Southbound Smokehouse restaurant there, adding he hopes it will be sooner rather than later.  No opening date has been set though.

Southbound is "where classic southern barbecue meets friendly neighborhood cantina," according to the restaurant's website.

They're known for their wings, pulled pork, smoked chicken, bowls, shrimp n grits, quesadillas, and a variety of sandwiches and salads.  They feature live music and big screen televisions for watching all your favorite games.  There's a Southbound Smokehouse-Riverside page on Facebook.
