Arrest Made in 2024 Murder Case in Richmond County
An arrest was made this afternoon in connection with a July, 2024 murder in south Augusta.
Deontray Denzell Donovan of Snowden Drive was taken into custody without incident around 3:30 pm during a traffic stop on Gordon Highway near Olive Road.
Donovan is charged in the July 5 murder of 16-year-old Sadiq Antonio Brown in the 2600 block of Peach Orchard Road in the parking lot of A-Town Wings.
The arrest was carried out today by the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Fugitive Task Force, the RCSO Gang Unit, and the RCSO Crime Suppression Team.
Arrest Made Today, But One More Is Still At-Large
Donovan is one of three people charged in connection with Brown’s death.
Nineteen-year-old Malcolm Bryant is already in custody, but 18-year-old Kieran Darnell Walters remains at-large.
“We will do whatever it takes to locate, arrest, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who commits a violent crime in Augusta, Georgia. We are extremely grateful for the outstanding work of our team members and the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Fugitive Task Force and the strong partnerships we are building with local, state and federal agencies,” said Sheriff Gino Brantley.
