A Body Was Found in the Savannah River July 19 in Augusta: Coroner Has Identified The Body
A body was found in the Savannah River July 19 in Augusta.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed the body was found in the water in the 600 block of Riverfront Drive.
Bowen said 38-year-old Jermaine Pate of Georgiana, Alabama was positively identified by the GBI Latent Prints Section.
The Body was Found by a Fisherman
Bowen said a fisherman discovered Pate’s body in the water that morning and called 911.
The body was sent to the GBI lab for an autopsy.
“Due to the condition of the body, a positive ID will have to be made,” said Bowen the day it was found.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene, but no other information about the incident has been released.
