Tornado watch issued by Augusta Emergency Management and National Weather Service
The National Weather Service and the Augusta Emergency Management Agency have issued a Tornado Watch until 1 p.m. Sunday, December 29. The Watch has been issued due to favorable conditions for tornado conditions in Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie, and Richmond counties. The Watch as been issued in conjunction with a storm front that has already brought tornados to both Mississippi and Alabama. The wet weather and high winds are expected to have pushed through by Sunday evening.
