Waynesboro Wreck Leaves 87-Year-Old Man Dead
A Waynesboro wreck late this afternoon claimed the life of an 87-year-old man.
It happened just after 4:00 pm on Highway 25 South at Coleman Young Road in Burke County.

The Sheriff’s Office says 87-year-old Raymond Brookins of Waynesboro was attempting to cross Highway 25 South from Coleman Young Road when his car was hit by another vehicle driven by 65-year-old Ralph Reynolds of Blairsville, Georgia.
Brookins was pronounced dead at the scene. Reynolds was not injured in the collision.
“Highway 25 South was temporarily closed to allow for a thorough investigation and to clear the scene,” said Colonel J.W. Wylds of the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
