Man Killed in Motorcycle Wreck on Columbia Road in Martinez
A man was killed in a motorcycle wreck late Thursday afternoon on Columbia Road, in front of Kroger.
Deputies were called to the scene at 5 pm. where the motorcycle and car had collided.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old David Brady of Martinez was westbound on Columbia Road in the inside lane when a vehicle attempted to make a left turn into the Regions Bank parking lot.
The driver didn’t see the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit the passenger side of the vehicle, according to Major Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
“After impact, Brady was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the inside westbound lane. The motorcycle slid into the center turn lane. About 10 seconds after the impact, a vehicle traveling west on Columbia Road in the inside lane ran over Brady,” said Morris.
Brady was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges will be filed against the other driver.
