The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who jumped out of the back of an ambulance yesterday while being transported from Piedmont Augusta Hospital to a mental health facility in Riverdale, Georgia.

How He Got Away

Authorities say 38-year-old John Anthony Lowden Jr. was being transported by Gold Cross Ambulance Service around 12:50 pm Sunday, November 19, when he jumped out of the vehicle while it was stopped at a traffic light on St. Sebastian Way at Walton Way.  He is still being sought.

Lowden is homeless and suffers from mental health issues.  He's black, 6'1" and weighs 205 pounds.  He was last seen wearing blue scrubs.
