Affectionate Mama Dog Is Waiting For You At The Aiken Animal Shelter
Kira is waiting for you at the Aiken County Animal Shelter.
She has spent the first four years of her life having puppies, starving and struggling to survive. It’s finally time for her to be happy.
Kira is a BIG favorite on the nursing home and school visits. When you meet her, she will give you a kiss and her paw. She really loves older people. She gets along great with other dogs. She will snuggle and sit in your lap if you let her. She loves riding in the car, she’s great running errands and inside homes.
She is a sweet “mama dog” that would make a great companion.
Kira is four years old and still too skinny at 48 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Not sure if she’s housetrained. She does have heartworms but treatment will be provided at no cost to you.
Her adoption fee is only $35. The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Rd., Aiken.
If you would like to arrange to meet Kira, just e-mail [email protected].
Walk In’s are welcomed 11am-4pm everyday but Sunday.

I truly can’t believe it’s time to start shopping for the holidays! I mean it feels like the whole summer zipped past me. I’m a planner. I try my absolute best to make sure that when the holiday shopping season rolls around I plan out the gifts I’m getting my loved ones. And that includes my pets. I have an adorable dog named Bailey and a very sassy cat named General Mittens. Yes, it is probably the best name in the world for her. Regardless, I need to make sure I buy them something for the holidays otherwise they’ll feel left out. So pet gifts are a must!
I know what you’re thinking. “What makes it a gift for them? Is it just toys?” Well, no it’s not just toys. In fact, I usually like to go the route of one toy, one treat, and one special item just for them. What makes it a gift for them though? Honestly, I think the main answer to that is that it’s something they’ll get joy out of. The items I chose for this list have that in mind.
Yes, you can absolutely grab your pet a bunch of toys for Christmas. But what about a cute new collar or bandana set? How about a place to hang their favorite leash? And yes, there will be some great toys on this list that I’m sure you and your pet will love. But I also love thinking outside of the box. The holiday shopping frenzy is starting, so as you go into this season, I hope this list helps you find some great new pet gifts for your favorite furry friends!
