Injured Georgia Teen Recovering After Crash That Claimed The Life Of His Father
A teen in Walton County remains in the hospital after a terrible car crash last weekend.
The teen’s father, Richard Buice, drove over to Dominos last Saturday, to pick up his son after his shift.
Once Kevin was inside the vehicle, the two headed home. Shortly after leaving the pizza chain, another car crossed into their lane — Striking their vehicle head on.
According to WSBTV, both Richard and his son were trapped inside the vehicle after the dashboard collapsed on them.
As they awaited for first responders to arrive, Kevin and his father spoke to one another — Not knowing it would be their last conversation.
Once on scene, firefighters were able to free the teen from the wreckage, but sadly, Richard passed away while still inside the vehicle.
Police say the driver of the other vehicle, Alexis Wynn, was intoxicated at the time the crash occurred.
Since the accident, Kevin has undergone surgery to repair broken bones in his legs.
And while his physical wounds are healing, undoubtedly, the emotional wounds of losing his father are still unbearable.
It’s the second time in three months the teen has faced overwhelming heartbreak, as his mother passed away over the summer.
Kevin’s girlfriend has set up a gofundme page to help with medical expenses.
