Fake Social Media Post Prompts Statement from the Columbia County School District
"The Columbia County School District is aware of a fake image circulating on social media containing false information regarding school closures. The information in the image is false. In the event of school closures parents will be notified directly and the information posted on our district and school websites."
The Fake Image Says:
"Due to hurricane Debby passing through the area Monday, August 5, 2024 Columbia County schools will be closed. The 2024 school year will begin on Tuesday, August 6, 2024."
Again, this is false information.
