One Local Business Closes Suddenly, Another Says It Will Soon
One local business downtown announced on social media Monday that it had closed, effective immediately.
Without notice, Vance’s Bakery Bar on James Brown Boulevard posted a “Sorry, We Are Closed” sign on their Facebook page with a short message.
“After much blood, sweat, and tears, we have come to the difficult decision to close Vance’s Bakery Bar. We thank all of the family, friends, and customers who have supported us on this amazing journey. We are incredibly proud of what we created and being a part of Downtown Augusta. A very special thanks to our amazing staff who made the Vance’s experience so memorable for our guests over the last three-and-a-half years.
Thank you, Augusta, for helping our dream come true. Always support local.”
Vance’s Bakery Bar owners Troy and Amy Adamo created the unique concept of the mid-century modern bakery and cocktail lounge in downtown Augusta, for those 21 and over, that offered a full bar featuring local craft beers and spirits, coffee drinks and specialty alcohol-infused desserts that were prepared in-house.
One Local Business Closed While Spay and Neuter Clinic in Martinez Closing Soon
Heartsong Spay and Neuter Clinic on Maple Drive in Martinez has let its clients know that the business will be closing its doors for good soon.
Heartsong has been in business for 18 years, providing the community with affordable spays/neuters, vaccines, micro chipping and wellness visits.
An announcement Monday on Heartsong Spay and Neuter Clinic’s Facebook page says:
“We have loved serving this community, so it comes with bittersweet emotions to announce my retirement and the closing of Heartsong Spay and Neuter Clinic.
We have 5 surgical days remaining, and they are all booked, so we will not be taking any more appointments. We will continue our wellness and walk-in vaccines on those days, August 13, 24 and 27; and September 3 and 14. Walk-in vaccines will now be from 11-2. We will still be open from 9-1 on Thursdays, and Fridays, in addition to Saturdays when the vet is not in for product pick up. We will not be ordering any more product, so if we don’t have what you generally use, we almost always have a safe and effective alternative.
All clients are asked to retrieve their paper files from Heartsong from September 1-20. If you have not been here with a pet within the past 3 years, there are no files, as we purge every three years.”
