More Than Sixty People Fall Ill After Eating Meal In Georgia
Food served at a holiday party has left dozens of people ill in White, Georgia.
After attending a Thanksgiving celebration at Toyo Tire plant, more than 60 employees fell ill a short time later.
The most common symptom reported was an upset stomach and vomiting. Additionally, two people were admitted to the hospital as a result of eating the food served at the holiday party.
According to WSBTV, close to 1800 people may have come in contact with the food.
The sickness is being attributed to a foodborne illness.
This incident is a good reminder to cook all food over the holidays for the recommended length and temperature, avoid cross-contamination, and sanitize all surfaces that come in contact with raw food.
