Augusta Airport Launches Holiday Events, Offers Free Flight Sweepstakes
Airport executive director Herbert L. Judon Jr. tells WDRW-TV, “Holiday travel can, at times, be stressful, so we hope these additions can help ease the tension.”
Kids can get a photo op with Santa in the main foyer of the terminal building from 9 to 11 a.m. on December 19, 20, and 23. Local musicians Fred Williams, Adam Thompson Harris, Matthew Dahlheimer, Bill Karp, and Josephine Johnson will take turns performing near the baggage claim.
Want to fly to D.C. for free? The airport’s fourth annual sweepstakes could make it happen. Winners will be randomly selected on December 20 and have until June 2025 to travel. Enter to win online.
As a special treat, the airport will host Santa’s Fly-In this coming weekend – an invitation-only event where 150 kids receive gifts through the Augusta Partnership for Children Inc. Plus, children will enjoy a Christmas party and the opportunity to watch Santa fly in via helicopter.
