Wayfair will set up its first Georgia outlet at the Augusta Exchange on January 9, taking over the former Buy Buy Baby at 242 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway. Signage is now up for the new store.

This outlet is a part of the online retailer's expansion into physical stores. The company tested these waters in Florence, Kentucky, opening its first outlet there in 2019, with additional locations opening across the U.S.

What began as a tiny startup grew into a business spanning two continents with 16,000 employees across North America and Europe.

In the early 2000s, two college buddies sought to create "a world where online shopping would transform home furnishing." Niraj Shah and Steve Conine "laid the groundwork with CSN Stores, a collection of over 200 specialized sites offering a wide array of products from bar stools to bedroom furniture" according to Wayfair

Crews are busy transforming the old Buy Buy Baby space at the Augusta Exchange into its new look. Soon, locals will be able to shop in person for previously only available online items.

While most people shop on Wayfair's website for furniture and home decor, these outlets offer something different – bargains on returns and excess inventory.
