Augusta Man Killed in Wreck on Bobby Jones Expressway
An Augusta man killed in a single-vehicle wreck early this morning on Bobby Jones Expressway in Richmond County has been identified.
Coroner Mark Bowen said 39-year-old Achley Cincinatus was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 1:25 am.
Bowen said Cincinatus was traveling at a high rate of speed while headed west, and veered off the road near the Wheeler Road Exit.
Bowen said the vehicle overturned and struck a light pole. One other person in the vehicle was taken to an area hospital for treatment. That person’s name and condition have not been released.
An autopsy on Cincinatus has been scheduled.
