High school seniors in Columbia and Richmond Counties are about to end one chapter in lives and start a new one as commencement ceremonies take place the rest of this week in both counties.

In Richmond County, all graduation ceremonies will be held at the James Brown Arena on 7th Street at various times Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The graduation dates and times are:

Wednesday, May 24:

G.P. Butler High School at 3 pm;  and Cross Creek High School at 6 pm.

Thursday, May 25:

Westside at 8 am; Lucy C. Laney at 11 am; Hephzibah High at 2 pm; T. W. Josey at 5 pm; and A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School at 7 pm.

Friday, May 26:

Glenn Hills at 8 am; John S. Davidson Fine Arts at 11 am; Academy of Richmond County at 2 pm; and Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School at 5 pm.

In Columbia County, all graduation ceremonies are scheduled to take place at Evans Towne Center Park.  Graduates will be given an unlimited number of tickets for the outdoor ceremony, and tickets will be required upon entry.

The graduation dates and times are:

Wednesday, May 24:  Harlem High School at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 25:  Grovetown High School at 9:30 am; and Lakeside High School at 6:30 pm.

Friday:  Evans High School at 9:30 am; and Greenbrier High School at 6:30 pm.

In the event of inclement weather, Columbia County commencement ceremonies will be moved to the Columbia County Performing Arts Center nearby.  Tickets would be limited to 5 per student.  Parents and students will be notified two hours prior to graduation time if the location of graduation is being moved indoors.  Parents and students will be notified via the district website, social media, and voice/text/email alerts.
