Panhandler Strikes It Rich!
Nice story, out of Spain about a panhandler striking it rich…
Here’s the story. Apparently. a woman in Alicante, Spain spends a lot of her days standing outside various businesses asking for money. She stood in front of one of the local banks. She stands in front of the supermarket and she’ll stand in front of the local tobacco shop.
She asks for spare change and from time to time will spend that money on lottery tickets to hopefully improve her situation.
At this point in the story let me tell you about the Spanish BonoLoto Lottery. The game debuted in 1988 and it’s the most popular in Spain because of the affordable price of the tickets. To play, players choose six numbers in a table from 1 to 49. Each ticket is about 50 cents.
So, back to our panhandler. She purchased some BonoLoto tickets from the tobacco shop and much to her surprise, she hit! She hit for $1,271,491 euros. Over $1300.
The identity of the woman is not known but she was quoted as saying, after her win, “You have solved my life”
