Here's an update, Skye has been rescued!
You can catch the “Skye” at the Aiken County Animal Shelter.
Meet Skye!
Skye is a beautiful Grand Pyrenees in need of a special home.
She’s loving, smart, and everything that makes this breed so popular. But this is her second time at the shelter, and the reason is her love of wandering.
Why Skye Back At The Aiken County Animal Shelter
When she was adopted last month, it was to live on a goat farm. While she needs a job like that, she digs out and wanders if left unattended for long periods. So, she’s back, in search of a better fit.
An adopter familiar with the breed would be a plus.
Skye is great with people and other dogs. She’s 3 years old and weighs 68lbs. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. She seems to be housetrained.
Her adoption fee is $35.
The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC.
E-mail, info@fotasaiken.org to meet Skye.
Walk-ins are welcomed from 11 am-4pm Monday through Saturday.
The shelter is full, as it always is. If you can’t provide a loving home for Skye, she needs you to pass this along so she can find one.
Charleston: The Most Visited City In South Carolina
The most visited city in South Carolina, and some say America is right here, in the Palmetto State. Every year, almost 8 million people come to Charleston, South Carolina for the history, the beauty, and, of course, the food!
Charleston has it all; Rainbow Row has colorful homes dating back to 1740, some of the best restaurants in the world, shopping, and it's even close to beaches like the Isle of Palms and Folly Beach. That's just one reason it's The Most Visited City In South Carolina.
If you love fresh seafood, you'll find it here. I once had a shrimp appetizer and commented to the waiter how delicious and fresh it was, and he said they were swimming a few hours ago. That's fresh! We've all heard of Halls Chop House and Husk in Charleston, which are great restaurants, but this city has great restaurants throughout the Charleston area and the surrounding beach towns.
The live music scene is always great, too, from downtown Charleston to the iconic Windjammer in Isle of Palms to a dive bar with a small beach town feel at the Sand Dollar Social Club in Folly Beach. The Windjammer brings in national acts from all over and has many country acts on the oceanfront stage.
Darius Rucker has a place in Charleston, and he loves the Charleston area. He even plays at the Windjammer when he has a chance. Plus, you never know when you'll run into local favorite Bill Murray. I once saw him at the outlet mall and said hello, and he just nodded. That was good enough for me. I saw Bill Murray!
Bill also owns Harold’s Cabin, a farm-to-table restaurant with fresh seafood, and Rutledge Cab Company, an excellent dinner place. Maybe you'll run into Bill Murray himself! Mr Murray also owns the Charleston Riverdogs Minor League baseball team. His official job title is "Director of Fun". The Riverdogs play at the Joesph P. Riley, Jr Park, or "The Joe."
You should also check out Sullivan's Island in the area. It's a two-and-a-half-mile-long barrier island near the entrance of Charleston Harbor.
Have fun exploring Charleston, South Carolina!
