Female Charged with Deadly Shooting at Olmstead Homes
A female has been charged with Sunday’s deadly shooting at Olmstead Homes in Augusta.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 19-year-old Tydasia Hope with the shooting in the 2100 block of C Street.
Two people were shot during an incident in the parking lot, with one pronounced dead at the scene.
One Killed in Sunday’s Shooting
The female charged was allegedly responsible for one death and one injury.
Investigators said 22-year-old Jaleen Xavier Sumpter of Augusta was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead after deputies arrived at the scene around 10 pm.
A second person was shot in the leg and was taken to Wellstar MCG for treatment of his injuries. His identity was not released.
Hope was taken into custody today and has been charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault.
Investigators haven’t released any other information about the incident yet.
Suspect Sought in Murder on Greenwich Drive in Aiken
The Aiken Department of Public Safety is looking for a suspect or suspects in the shooting death of 22-year-old Jalen Jones.
His body was found in a backyard shed late Monday morning in the 300 block of Greenwich Drive in Aiken.
Officers were called to a report of a shooting at the home after 11 am.
Investigators said Jones had multiple gunshot wounds. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday in Newberry.
