The teen suspect in the murder of 14-year-old Anthony Harrison last week at a Richmond County apartment complex has surrendered to authorities.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office had named 15-year-old Darryaun Tanskley the suspect in the deadly shooting at Cedarwood Apartments on Richmond Hill Road April 30.

Investigators say Tanksley turned himself in to Richmond County authorities on Sunday. He's in custody charged with Murder in Harrison's death. Authorities say he's being charged as an adult.

Harrison was an 8th grader at Murphy Middle School.

Parents of students there received a letter making them aware of the tragedy and assuring them that a crisis intervention team would be available at the school for students and staff.

Family and friends gathered Sunday night at Josey High School's football stadium for a balloon release in Harrison's honor.
