Air Fryers Recalled Due to Burn Hazard
An air fryer that was sold at Walmart, Target, and Kohl’s stores is being recalled due to what the Consumer Product Safety Commission is calling a “burn hazard.”
Empower Brands is recalling two models of its PowerXL dual-basket Air Fryers.
Models Recalled:
The recalled air fryers were sold online and at Target, Walmart, Kohl’s and other stores nationwide from August 2021 through October 2023. They retailed for $60 to $190, depending on the model.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says Empower Brands has received 41 reports of the product breaking during use, resulting in several reports of burns.
“The plastic U-Channel connector used to optionally combine the two food baskets inside of the air fryers can break during use, posing a burn hazard,” according to the CPSC recall notice.
The notice also says, “The egg-shaped air fryers have two baskets that can be used separately or optionally combined into one large single basket.” The air fryers were sold in black and cinnamon colors. They both have a silver label on the front that says “PowerXL.” There is also a white label on the bottom of each unit, or on the unit’s power cord, that lists the model number.
Those with the recalled air fryers are cautioned to stop using them immediately and contact the manufacturer for a full refund.

After the recall was announced, Target posted a statement to customers:
“At Target, we’re committed to providing high-quality and safe products for our guests. Following a national recall initiated by Empower Brands, Target is removing all PowerXL DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers from our stores and online.”
The CPSC recalled two million COSORI Air Fryers in February this year after it was discovered a wire connection in the product could overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

It seems to happen to me every year. It’s not that I don’t want to get unique gifts for everyone I just…forget to plan accordingly.
Shopping for the holidays can be tough! You don’t always have time to shop for everyone. Also, not everyone makes lists these days. We’re supposed to tell them what they want for Christmas based on conversations and paying attention. That can prove to be difficult!
Thanks to technology, finding last minute Christmas gifts is easier than ever. In fact, if you do it right…they’ll never even know it was last minute to begin with. That’s what I’m here for.
