Do you ever just want a home-cooked meal without the cooking? Well Aiken, here's another solution for you.

Downtown Aiken is now home to a new restaurant that specializes in southern-style food. The Proper Plate opened its doors to the public during Masters Week, on April 9.

The new restaurant allows for indoor and indoor seating.

Now that's what you call a grand opening! Tackling your first opening during one of the biggest weeks in the CSRA! Owners say that even though it was golf week most of their customers were still locals.

The Proper Plate is located at 119 Laurens Street serving up meat and sides, casseroles, and dessert selections.

You can choose one meat, two sides, and a bread for just $14. There is also an option for just sides. Their menu is posted weekly with 5 types of meat that will change to allow a variety.

One special addition to this restaurant is that it has a Grab N Go option. These are already prepared homestyle meals.

Grab N Go Items:

Lasagna

Broccolie Rice Caserole

Sweet Potato Casserole

Squash Casserole

Mac & Cheese

Meatloaf

Chicken Pot Pie

They even are serving up old-school boxed lunches for $10. The meals may vary from a sandwich to a chicken salad, both with sides.

Need something for the whole family? They offer a Family Box Chicken Dinner which includes a whole rotisserie chicken, two sides, and your choice between a cornbread or a biscuit. This deal is available each day after 4 pm.

The reviews via Facebook are giving this place the green light!
