A body found on Hunter Street Thursday night has been identified as an elderly man who was reported missing earlier this week.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says 80-year-old Roy Jones of Spruce Street in Augusta was reported missing April 15.

During a local children's baseball practice Thursday evening, a body was found near a fence by a coach who was retrieving a ball.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office and Coroner's Office were notified.

Bowen confirmed today the body found on Hunter Street was that of Jones.  He was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday night at 8:45 pm.

No foul play is suspected.

Jones had been Reported Missing

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office had announced Monday that 80-year-old Roy Jones was reported missing this week.  He hadn't been seen since March 15 in the area of the 800 block of Laney Walker Boulevard.  Jones was diagnosed with dementia.

Autistic Man Found

An autistic man who is non-verbal was reported missing early Thursday morning in Washington County.

The Sheriff's Office there said 23-year-old Thomas Hodges went missing from his home at 12:30 am today.
