Motorcycle Hits Train in Augusta, Rider Identified
A motorcycle hit a train in Augusta early this morning, leaving the rider dead.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was called to the site of the accident in the 600 block of Reynolds Street around 1 am.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said 30-year-old Jonathon Williams of Aiken was on the motorcycle traveling east on Reynolds Street when he crashed into the southbound train.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:15 am.
No autopsy has been scheduled.
