A teen is dead following a shooting on Bolt Drive in Augusta late last night.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a report of shots fired at 11:40 pm. Monday.

Investigators say one person was down when they arrived.  The male victim was identified as 19-year-old Makel Jones of Bolt Street.  He was taken to Wellstar MCG where he was pronounced dead just after midnight.

The deadly shooting is being investigated and no further information is available at this time, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

One Shot Monday at Diamond Lakes Regional Park

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is also investigating a shooting Monday afternoon at Diamond Lakes Regional Park.

Deputies got the call to respond at 2:30 pm.

When they arrived, they found one person had been shot.  The victim was taken to a local hospital and is undergoing treatment for what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the incident is still under investigation and no other information is being released at this time.
